Dining Out Has Never Been So Easy!

If you read my last post, you know that I've now lost a total of 37 pounds. There was one topic that I forgot to cover in that post. I love to go out to lunch and dinner when I can. That's not always easy or wise when you need to lose weight.

Let me give you an example of some of the places I have been in the past few weeks: IHOP, Hooter's, Ponderosa, and also a local wing place. I meet a friend of mine for lunch about once a week, and go out to dinner with my cousin once a week.

Here's the best part: I didn't order food at these places. I just drank black coffee or ice tea. I had a Medifast meal or a low carb meal, before or after I went out for lunch or dinner, and was not tempted to order food at all. It has become an easy thing to do. The food that I see my friends eating doesn't even look that appetizing. I focus on the conversation and catching up with friends, and not on the food.

It's amazing what having your cravings under control can do for you. Lately I have not been hungry until 3 or 4:00 in the afternoon. I eat every day well before then, because it's still important to fuel your body throughout the day. But my hunger is so much less, and I'm able to eat so much less. And I'm not dying of hunger at 9:00 p.m every night like I used to. It's nice to have things going in the right direction again.
