I Didn't Take My Alli Weight Loss Pills...Yet

Well I took one alli weight loss pill before breakfast the other day, but then I ate an unhealthy lunch. There's no point to taking alli if you're not eating healthy, so I haven't taken another since that breakfast. A few years ago Tim McGraw sang about what he was going to do in his next thirty years. He was going to eat a few more salads, drink a little lemonade, and not so many beers. Good advice Tim. I should start following that advice. Maybe then it would make more sense to incorporate the alli plan into my diet. The alli weight loss aid can be very effective, but it can't erase the calories of a Friday night of pizza and beer.

Does the Company we Keep Make us Fat?

I read an interesting article yesterday that pointed to a study that suggested that the friends and family in our lives can contribute to us being overweight. At first, I thought that made sense because I have at least one close overweight friend, and we enjoy going out to dinner quite frequently. The interesting thing about the article is it suggested that friends and family who live hundreds or thousands of miles away can still influence us in a way that contributes to us being overweight. Whatever. You want to know what makes me overweight. I eat too much. I am hungry all the time, and if I'm not hungry I still eat. And when I eat I eat high-calorie, high-fat foods. Aunt Gladys in Tucson has nothing to do with me being overweight. I have everything to do with me being overweight.

Go For a Walk!

You should go for a walk every day. It's relaxing and can keep you from overeating. Anytime you have a craving, go for a 10 minute walk. You'll be amazed at what that can do for you.

Time to Start the Grapefruit Diet?

I woke up with the lyrics to "Grapefruit Diet" by "Weird Al" Yankovic in my head. Yeah, I really should throw out the pizza and beer. But it's so good.

Should I Join Weight Watchers?

I'm thinking of joining Weight Watchers...again. I have probably joined the program 5 or 6 times over the past 13 years. The thing about Weight Watchers is their program really works. You just have to commit yourself to it. I had some very good success with Weight Watchers. Their program didn't fail me, I failed their program. I haven't decided yet, but I just might give Weight Watchers another try.

Which Weight Loss System is Right for You?

Choosing the right weight loss system is critical to the success of your effort to lose weight. There are many different weight loss systems available to the general public. If the plans are followed, they all can be ultimately successful. Some of the things you should consider when choosing a weight loss system are: what types of foods will this weight loss system recommend, are there meetings to attend, how much is the cost of food and membership, and is their online support available.

The type of food that each weight loss system recommends is critical to your weight loss success. Some weight loss systems promote low carb foods, some promote low fat-high carb foods, some promote meal replacement shakes, and some may be strictly vegetarian. When you choose a weight loss system you need to find a program that promotes eating food you enjoy, or you won't last on that program very long.

Many weight loss systems have weekly meetings to attend where you can weigh in, get advice on healthy eating, and get support from others who are also trying to lose weight. Many people enjoy this type of weight loss system, because they gain strength from interacting with others who are attempting to win the weight loss battle. Weekly meetings with others who are trying to achieve a common goal can also be a great place to make friends. On the other hand, some people may prefer an online weight loss system, where they can still receive weight loss tips, and support from others, but still have some anonymity. It can be embarassing for some to meet with others in person, and discuss their struggles with weight loss. The online approach also offers you convenience of logging in whenvever your schedule allows. You may not be able to attend a meeting, but you can log in 24/7. You can also choose a weight loss system that provides both personal consultation, and online support so you get the best of both worlds.

Finally, price is an important factor in choosing a weight loss system. You have to find out if you have to pay a membership fee, and after that do you have to buy food from the weight loss system that you choose. Some weight loss systems sell you food that they produce while others will provide you with guidelines for which types of foods you should purchase at your grocery store.

With all of the choices of weight loss systems out there, you will find the system that is right for you. If you try one, and it isn't right for you, that's okay. Go on to the next one. With a little research and of course a lot of effort, you will find the weight loss system to help you achieve your weight loss goals.
